Denzel Curry Fort Lauderdale Concert reviews
LOGISTICS SUCKED, Concert was great
Here is the revised review with switched words and rearranged sentences:
Sorry for the detailed review, but there were so many details that were poorly executed. We bought Meet & Greet VIP with floor seats. The tickets weren't available for mobile delivery and had to be picked up at will call on the day of the concert. 2 days before the concert, no information about what time, where, or how to meet and greet was provided. We were then informed what gate to go to for the meet & greet and at what time to register. Upon arrival, the streets were closed, which was understandable but meant a walk for several blocks in the intense heat and humidity. We arrived early to ensure we had time. If that was all we had to deal with, it wouldn't have been a big deal. But it wasn't. The Stadium was still closed, and the meet and greet registration was on the complete opposite end of the stadium from will-call. Had our instructions informed us of that, we would have arrived at the other end of the stadium first. With streets and stadium entrances closed, we had to fast-walk almost a half-mile around the outside perimeter to get to will-call for our tickets. Then, we had to fast-walk a half-mile back. Everyone else for VIP was also in line to get their tickets, and only 2 windows were open. So, just walking over there and getting our tickets took almost an hour. Then, we had to almost run back around the half-mile. We barely arrived in time to register with only 5 minutes to spare before they closed. It was disgustingly hot and humid, with no access to water. There weren't even any vendors allowed to sell water outside. We still had to stand in line to register and then stand in line for Covid testing. So, we spent another 45 minutes in the heat with no water. The Covid testing was also a disorganized mess. There were two ladies conducting the testing and checking results. Everyone's was taking forever, and even the staff was getting irritated by the disorganization. Ours was taking even longer, and our escort kept asking if ours were ready. He asked 4 times, and the lady kept checking the tests and saying neither of our results were ready. Finally, the escort asked the other lady, and she checked. Our tests weren't even on her tray to look at; they were sitting off to the side under some papers and had been ready almost the whole time. After finally getting our negative results and wristbands, we first took an elevator upstairs and then ran some more down some hallways with our escort to meet the band and take pictures. At that point, the pictures were of course completely horrible because I was a sweaty mess with hair falling down and makeup melted off and exhausted from all the running. I would have attributed it to my age (49) and my health issues (Lupus) for it being so challenging for me. But my friend, who is much younger and in great shape with no health issues, was also completely drained by all the unexpected running in the heat. We finally found a water fountain upstairs. The meet & greet itself was fantastic, and the band was warm and friendly even after meeting all the fans before us since we were last. I also have to really commend them; they were great sports because they pulled us right in for hugs and then snuggled up for pictures. If it were me, I wouldn't have wanted to touch someone, much less hug and snuggle up to a stranger who was dripping wet with sweat! Thankfully, they were so cool, and we got some great memories and pictures despite looking like drowned rats. When we finally got down to our floor seats, they weren't clearly marked. Despite having really good seats (Floor A2, Row 8), the chairs were placed so close to the rows behind and in front that taller people in front of us completely blocked our view. We are both average height females, so it was a constant struggle to see around their shoulders and heads to view the stage. When someone needed to get out of the row, you had no choice but to press up intimately against strangers to let them pass. I understand space is money, but I've been to other concerts with floor seats, and I've never seen one this tightly packed before. It made the actual viewing of the concert not as enjoyable, and we had to look at the screens more than at the actual band members to see what was happening. The stadium is entirely non-smoking, which is understandable, but there's no re-entry allowed, so people were smoking in the bathrooms and in the crowd. This was the worst concert venue I've ever experienced. We spent a considerable amount of money on our tickets, and the few positive moments were overshadowed by the poorly organized and inadequate venue. I will not attend any events here again.
